I love love love Van Leeuwen ice cream. It's my favorite ice cream shop in NYC because they make so many vegan flavors that are creamy, sweet but not too sweet , and thick. They also create seasonal flavors that are sometimes vegan. However, my all time favorite flavor is the roasted pear and concord grape flavor from the Winter menu and then the double concord grape on the Winter menu. These seasonal flavors go quickly, so I usually take a pint to go and stick it in my freezer and pray that it lasts until next year it never does. They have seven locations in NYC and growing , three in LA, an ice cream trucks in each city, and sell their ice cream by the pint in local grocery stores.
Their vegan ice cream is made with housemade raw cashew milk, organic coconut cream, raw coconut oil, pure cocoa butter, and cane sugar. This recipe results in rich, decadent, naturally-balanced ice cream. With multiple scoop shops in NYC and LA—and more on the way— Van Leeuwen obsessively sources the best ingredients in the world to create each flavor. Ice cream pints are carefully packed in an insulated shipping box with enough dry ice to keep the contents perfectly frozen. Upon receipt, please place your pints in your freezer to store.
