what you say about me is none of my business

The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter

In this original edition, Peter and his sisters are told to go gather blackberries and not to go into MacGregors garden because Peters father was made into a pie by MacGregor after being found in the garden. Peter, who is wearing a new coat, promptly disobeys his mother, stuffs himself with vegetables, gets spotted by MacGregor, loses his coat and barely makes it out of the garden alive. When Peter gets home, he is given chamomile tea for dinner. Peters sisters, who listened to their mother and stayed out of the forbidden garden have a regular dinner.

None Of My Business (Lyric Video) - Cher Lloyd

What Others Think About You Is None Of Your Business

It is very easy to cultivate an unhelpful and unhealthy preoccupation with other people's opinions -- specifically, to care way too much about what other people think of us. I remember lying in bed as a twenty-something and worrying instead of sleeping -- worrying about what somebody had said about me or a nasty remark in an email message. What did that lost sleep get me? Over time I realized that not everyone has to like me. Not everyone has to like you, either.

If you Google it, a bunch of names come up as the author of this statement.
