The One Thing by Marci Lyn CurtisMaggie Sanders might be blind, but she wont invite anyone to her pity party. Ever since losing her sight six months ago, Maggies rebellious streak has taken on a life of its own, culminating with an elaborate school prank. Maggie called it genius. The judge called it illegal.
Now Maggie has a probation officer. But she isnt interested in rehabilitation, not when shes still mourning the loss of her professional-soccer dreams, and furious at her so-called friends, who lost interest in her as soon as she could no longer lead the team to victory.
Then Maggies whole world is turned upside down. Somehow, incredibly, she can see again. But only one person: Ben, a precocious ten-year-old unlike anyone shes ever met.Bens life isnt easy, but he doesnt see limits, only possibilities. After awhile, Maggie starts to realize that losing her sight doesnt have to mean losing everything she dreamed of. Even if what shes currently dreaming of is Mason Milton, the infuriatingly attractive lead singer of Maggies new favorite band, who just happens to be Bens brother.
But when she learns the real reason she can see Ben, Maggie must find the courage to face a once-unimaginable future... before she loses everything she has grown to love.

Script Analysis of 13 Conversations About One Thing
He was so passionate about it, that I ordered it from Netflix right away and watched it. Maybe the title turned me off? Todd had not overstated how good it is. We exchanged some private emails about it, and his analysis was thrilling to read. I can be slow on the draw, anyway.
Detailed plot synopsis reviews of 13 Conversations About One Thing Gene Arkin is a grumpy mid-level manager in an insurance office; Troy McConaughey is a young and cocky prosecutor in the DA's office; Beatrice DuVall does housecleaning and is eternally optimistic; Walker Turturro is an anal physics professor at Columbia who puts a little spice in his life by cheating on his wife Patricia Irving. These characters' lives interweave -- sometimes directly and sometimes unbeknownst to them -- as Troy is involved in a hit-and-run accident, and Gene sticks it to a subordinate whose sunny disposition and good luck annoy him. We see these imperfect but likable characters wrestle with their consciences and the huge consequences of small incidents. The film is wry, thoughtful, quiet, with a constemplative Satie-like soundtrack. The stories are related in nonlinear order, which can be a little disconcerting at first but is ultimately refreshing. Arkin is incredibly fine, and most of the rest of the acting is quite good as well.
Everybody wants to be happy, but what does that mean? This intelligent, engaging indie sets out to find a few answers and in the process introduces a clutch of interesting, very human characters. Ensembler, which reps the currently fashionable formula of setting up a series of apparent unconnected people and letting their paths cross, is wittily scripted by the director and her sister, Karen, and well acted. Result is a minor but tasty pic that could attract upscale auds on the specialized circuit. Tormented by his actions, he gives one of his students a particularly hard time, with unforeseen results.
